Every visit is shaped around your child, with plenty of time to settle in. A children's appointment may include:
✔ A gentle check of teeth, gums and how the teeth are developing
✔ Advice on brushing, diet and keeping teeth healthy at home
✔ Preventive care such as fluoride varnish or fissure sealants, where suitable
✔ A clear explanation for parents of what we find and any next steps
Routine care is provided by our dental team, with consultant-led care available for children who need specialist treatment. Parents and carers are welcome to stay with their child throughout the appointment.
Baby teeth matter. They help children eat, speak and smile with confidence, and they hold space for the adult teeth that follow. Regular check-ups from an early age help us spot decay, developmental changes and other problems early, when they're easier to treat.
Early visits also help children get used to the dentist in a relaxed way. At Harley Private, our approach focuses on prevention, gentle care and building positive habits for life.
Reflections from people who have visited our clinic and shared their experience.
From a first check-up to specialist treatment, we care for children at every stage, in a calm setting designed to put young patients at ease.

Your first visit is a relaxed chance for your child to meet the team. We'll check their teeth, answer your questions and recommend any next steps, with no pressure.
These frequently asked questions give clear, honest information about children's dentistry. If you have further questions, we can discuss them at your appointment.
We recommend bringing your child as soon as their first teeth appear, and by their first birthday. Early visits help them get used to the dentist and let us spot any problems early.
Keep things positive and simple, and try to avoid words like hurt or pain. Let us know beforehand if your child is anxious, and we'll take things at their pace, explaining each step in a calm, friendly way.
Yes. Parents and carers are welcome to stay with their child throughout the appointment.
Contact us straight away. Emergency appointments are available during our opening hours. If an adult tooth is knocked out, hold it by the crown rather than the root and keep it in milk on the way to us. Don't try to put a baby tooth back in.
Baby teeth help children chew, speak clearly and smile with confidence, and they hold space for the adult teeth. Decay in baby teeth can cause pain and infection, so it's worth keeping them healthy.
We'll gently check your child's teeth, look at how they're developing and give tailored advice on brushing and diet. Preventive care such as fluoride varnish may be recommended where suitable.
Most children only need routine care. If your child has dental trauma, complex decay, a developmental condition or severe anxiety, they can be seen by our consultant in paediatric dentistry, Dr Mona Agel.
